Ahoy! I'm DaCaptn and I would like to tell you a story…
My wife's car blew up and she needed a CHEAP way to get back and forth to work. We searched and asked around and looked on the Net and could not find anything that would fit our budget and still be FUN to drive!
The Mini Harley is the answer! There are several places on the internet where you can buy small motorcycles and scooters BUT every one I spoke with shipped the bike “almost” fully assembled and their prices were out of my league. Let me tell ya, they assume that you know all about motorcycles AND how they are put together because unless you DO know you'll end having to pay a professional to do it for you. Just SOME of the things that you must do:
• Install front end and wheel assembly and install the disc brake cable. You MUST have a helper to install the wheel.You must have a torque wrench and the front wheel must be torqued to exact tolerances.
• Find and open electrical wire box and hook up turn signals, flashers etc.
• Install and adjust front brake cable to brake handle
• Find and connect gas lines to engine and adjust carburetor idle screw(s)
• Install front fender bracket and fender
• Find battery and hook up starter cables
• Hook up and adjust back brake assembly
• Install complete handlebar assembly with clutch and brake cables installed
• Hook up and adjust transmission shifter
• Start engine by using kick starter (can take a VERY long time kicking and kicking but once you get it started AND adjusted these engines run GREATand almost forever!)
There are many more little parts to put on but you can see from this short list that putting one of these cycles together takes quite a long time and you MUST have the proper tools.
When you invest in one of DaCaptn's Mini Harley's you can be certain that every nut, bolt, screw and wire has been checked and hand tightened to the proper specs.
To rceieve the best and longest life for your new 49cc you MUST give it a "break-in" period. According to the Factory Manuel this means over 75 hours of riding the bike at 1/4,1/2 and 3/4 throttle before the engine can safely be run “full throttle” for LONG(their talkin HOURS folks) periods of time. This IS the PERFECT way to do it and on my personal bike I did break it in that way. I now have almost 4000 miles on her and she runs better the longer she runs.
I DO understand that most people will not take the time to do that extended "break-in time". Not a problem. I will give you a written guide as to how to properly have a "ready to go" full throttle bike in 300 miles or less. If you live locally and I'm not too busy I'll do it myself. I LOVE ta ride these Mini Harleys.
I don't know of ANYONE that will do that for you for any amount of money but I've tried to live my life by giving people more than they expect and this is no different.
